make Pla-Mor Lanes proud!
Coldwater wins the
first ever OHSAA State High School Bowling Tournament. The Cavaliers beat
the Redskins of St. Henry in the final match three games to one in the best
of five match play baker games. Coldwater was led once again by Senior Jared
Moeder with a series of 639. St. Henry was led by Junior Dan Rex with a team
high series of 631. After the qualifying round was over, St. Henry sat in
third place while Coldwater was in the fourth spot. With the top eight teams
advancing to the seeded match play round, Coldwater and St. Henry found
themselves in opposite brackets. Coldwater's first match was against
Youngstown Liberty where they won in three straight games, while St. Henry
first match was three games to one against Hamilton. In the semi-finals
Coldwater topped Austintown Fitch three games to one, and St. Henry knocked
off Fairmont three games to one. In the final match Coldwater out lasted
their Conference rival St. Henry three games to one.
